J. Jefferson Scott

In 1989 Jeff started and co-authored The Discipleship Walk, a three-day retreat leading people into a deeper relationship with Christ. More than 18,000 people across the United States have been through it since. He also started and developed the Alpha Course at his church into one of the largest in the country, served on the National Board of Advisors for Alpha USA in its earlier years, and has trained more than 500 churches in the US, Nicaragua and India to develop and run Alpha Courses of their own.

For fifteen years he taught the spiritual gifts classes at his church, where more than 1,500 people learned who the Holy Spirit is and how they had each been personally gifted — the teaching that eventually became Empowered For More.

He is co-author of Growth Seekers, an eighteen-week journey through emotional and relational health that more than 900 people have completed.

He has been licensed as a pastor by Northview Church in Carmel, Indiana for twenty years, and has taught groups of pastors and church leaders on mission trips in Nicaragua, India and Africa. He spent his working life in business — starting new divisions, then running his own consulting firm for twenty years — and served in ministry the whole time.

He holds an MBA in Organizational Church Leadership from Trinity Seminary, completed the three-year Townsend Leadership Program, and is a retired Adjunct Professor of Organizational Leadership at the Townsend Institute, Concordia University.

He and his wife, Sue, have been married more than fifty-five years. They have two daughters and three grandchildren, and live in Indiana.
